Rental Cars Use Half...

This past weekend, I reserved a car at the San Francisco branch of National car rental. I love National because if you're a member of their Emerald Club you get to pick any car and just drive it off the lot for the same price. It's the 'kid-in-a-candy-shop" experience every time.

So what to my surprise, there are a couple of Toyota Prius!
"We have several" said the guy at the gate check "but they go out as soon as they come in." I grabbed a white one and had a great week averaging 45 mpg in mostly highway driving. This is definitely the coolest rental on the block.

You can bet my loyalty to National Car Rental has increased!

Something to think about for the car rental companies: People are eager to try efficient Hybrid vehicles.
